I think they would do very well together. The Innovator would design products and the Specialist would be in charge of selling them. A drawback, however would be the lack of a builder to give the company started.
It is important for an Innovator to have business partners to push them forward. The outcome of the partnership would be products with good service, but gradually going forward. To really boost the partnership between the two, the Specialist or Innovator should possess a secondary Builder DNA.

The Innovator would be the one who is in the R&D and the Specialist would be the one who will be marketing the products. But this will only possible when they already have a company. So therefore it is key that they have a Builder DNA working with them.

If builder was in the business with these partner it would be a success.
