ReplyDelete1. Can Builders (especially those with high Builder DNA) survive in the same business venture with other high Builder DNA business owners? If so, why? If not, why?
No because people with builder DNA tend to be very independent and seek to lead the project.
2. If High Builder DNA do buy into franchises, which stage will they be actively involved in the venture and why? They would be most active at the start of the business and taking the jumps.
DeleteQ1. Builders DNA can survive in the same business venture with other high Builder DNA if they are able to agree on working sub-organizations within the organization, for example, a subsidiary or branch office. They can't survive if they are working within the same team unless they have very clear distinct areas of responsibilities and authorities that were mutually agreed beforehand.
DeleteQ2. Builder DNA can buy into franchises if they are active in the start-up phase of the franchise business and be intentional about passing the management baton when the business begins to stabilize.

ReplyDelete1. We believe that they wouldn’t survive in the same business, especially those with high builder DNA, because every builder individual would want to manage the business. Builders prefer to make and set their own rules and system. So, if there were to be many individuals who are unhappy about following each others methods- the business wouldn’t turn out well and there would be many disputes.
2. If they would buy into franchises, they would prefer to be in a position of control where they can run the business and not just sit and be told what to do. They would prefer to start a franchise and shaping it to be a successful business. (Building things from the ground up).
Q1. As long as roles, responsibilities and authorities are mutually agreed upon upfront, there is a high chance of survival for Builders to work together in the same business.
DeleteQ2. Start-up phase is what the Builder will thrive in a franchise.

1. No, they can't work together. Builders tend to have their own rules and like to be the boss. If they work together, both will be the boss and things won't be successful. The two builders would have contradictions with each other.
2. If High Builder DNA do buy into franchises, they would be in the startups and turnarounds stage because they don't enjoy following other peoples rules, and they love to take the extra mile to fix things.

DeleteQ2. Start-up phase is what the Builder will thrive in a franchise...and also at various points of the business where the next phase of growth is to commenced.
